Cephalon.Observability.Serilog adds a supported Serilog provider-integration path for Cephalon hosts.
What it owns
Section titled “What it owns”- host-builder registration for Serilog over the shared
Microsoft.Extensions.Logging.ILoggerpipeline - configuration-driven Serilog activation from the standard top-level
Serilogsection - code-based sink and enricher extension points for hosts that need more than configuration alone
- correlation-friendly request scopes from Cephalon ASP.NET Core HTTP logging so Serilog sinks can follow request and trace context without a separate logging abstraction
Main surfaces

How it fits
Section titled “How it fits”This package stays outside Cephalon.Engine and Cephalon.Observability on purpose. The engine and baseline observability package still log through ILogger, while this companion package gives ASP.NET Core and worker hosts one explicit way to swap in Serilog sinks, enrichers, and formatting without inventing a Cephalon-specific logging abstraction.
When ASP.NET Core hosts enable Cephalon’s request/response logging, the resulting request scope flows through LogContext via the same shared ILogger pipeline. That keeps RequestId, TraceId, and TraceParent available to Serilog sinks and enrichers without creating a Cephalon-specific logger API.
